Why we love…. Christmas cocktails
Putting family, friends, feasting and the all-round effusion of festive cheer to the side for a moment, something else that we at Harrys love at this time of year is a Christmas cocktail.
And no-one knows better how to mix a drink to get us into the seasonal swing of things than our Wholesale Manager, Dan.
Dan learnt his craft when he was at university in York and had a part time job managing a cocktail bar. No £1 a pint student nights for him. Instead, he developed a fine-tuned taste for classic cocktails and became a disciple of Difford’s Guide to Cocktails, which remains his go-to resource when he gets his shaker out. “Difford’s is the bible for cocktails,” he says. “Everyone should own one.”
Two of Dan’s favourite cocktails are the Old Fashioned (which he traditionally drinks over the festive season with his father) and the Negroni. “It’s always a treat to sit down and enjoy a cocktail or two,” he concludes. If you’d like to (excuse the pun) take a leaf out of Dan’s book, just follow the Difford’s recipes below.
